The LBD: If you don't already have one in your closet, you should. It's "The Little Black Dress" and it is certainly a staple for every women's wardrobe whether you are 25 or 55. 

Of course, if you are closer to 55, you should probably look into finding an LBD with a longer hem, more coverage and a more tailored look. The LBD is so simple, you can pair it with just about anything for different holiday party looks. Add a blazer for more formal holiday parties like I've shown in looks 2 and 3 above. If you are heading to a holiday party with a more laid back and creative vibe, try some fun colored legwear and a pair of boots to dress down your LBD. If you want to go for the in between, you can pair your LBD with a fun metallic cardigan (or some sequins) to do the trick. Don't forget to accessorize! While an LBD is a classic, the look can always be embellished with fun and sparkly holiday accessories. Check out some of the beautiful and flattering silhouettes I have found below, and remember these dresses can be worn year round for all kinds of different events and parties so it is a good idea to have one of your own as a go-to in your closet.
