About

I am just a girl with a passion for styling and a wonderful mother.

My name is Amanda. I am in my twenties, a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and living in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.

As I continue to grow into my own sense of style, I am finding that fashion – which was once the source of mortal combat in our household – is actually bringing my mom and I closer together. Some time ago I may have called you crazy for even suggesting I look through my mother’s closet to find something to wear. As a teenager, shopping with my mom was like declaring war in the dressing room over shorts that were too short and brand names that weren’t trendy enough. I have come a long way since the teenager in the dressing room, and my mom has taken to asking me for style advice every chance she gets.

I believe there are certain challenges facing today’s gracefully aging woman when it comes to style. In our modern world, where women tend to wear many hats (theoretically speaking), at times it is hard to keep up with a style that reflects that versatility – from simple to sophisticated. In other words, it is sometimes challenging to find clothing that mirrors the beauty and personality that is on the inside of every woman. To that I say, I think you just have to know what to look for!

I got my mom on board to help me experiment with different looks that may not always be her style, but are especially created for all kinds of women out there: whether you want to dress as a mom, for your career, or just looking for something to wear on your next date, night out with the girls or vacation. So get ready to toss out your “granny panties” and trade in your “mom jeans” for something a little more stylish, and still perfectly age appropriate. All I ask is that you keep an open mind, let yourself be inspired and don’t be afraid to make fashion mistakes. Most importantly, dress for your body and never leave home in something you don’t feel comfortable in.

This blog is meant to inspire. It is created for both women on a budget and women who like to splurge. In my posts (featuring my lovely mother) I include ideas and styling tips to show what you can do with different clothing, colors, and styles in your own wardrobe. Don’t worry if you are a different shape or size than my very petite mother, this site is about inspiration and ideas for all women.

Side Note:
I am looking for women (of all shapes and sizes) to be "guest models" on my site so I can show what I can do with different women and different wardrobes.
