The cardigan sweater is a staple in every woman's wardrobe and the more colors you have to choose from, the better.
When I am putting together a casual outfit (for me or my mom), I like the cocoon shape or shawl collar "open" cardigan because they usually hang longer and look great with skinny jeans (or leggings!). Target makes a great cocoon cardigan (as seen in many of the outfits above) in many, many colors and they usually have a summer variation, with shorter sleeves and bright colors, and winter variation with long sleeves and darker colors. Pairing a colorful cardigan with an even more colorful patterned scarf makes for the perfect casual outfit and with a few cardigans and a few scarves, there are so many variations. Take a look at the colors in your closet and play around with different pairings. Remember, the scarves don't always have to match the cardigan perfectly to look good, and sometimes the mix-matched combinations look the best. For some great and colorful cardigan options, look below and click each link below the photo to see all the different colors they come in. You can get the exact cardigan my mom is wearing (in most of the photos above) from Target by clicking here, it comes in many different colors!

I like the colorful, mix n' match cardigans a lot! This is a way to dress warm but still be colorful during wintertime.
